HEEEAAALP! Can't stop playing Elite Beat Agents
Careful what you wish for

Andre started and as seen above, never stopped playing Elite Beat Agents, recently. The game is two years old but still stands tall above the DS crowd. My guess is that he was reminded about the game after the semi-recent and hilarious Mega 64 Elite Beat Agents video.

I never played the North American version but I did play Ouendan and Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (which will just be referred to as Ouendan 2 from now and for all time). There are three phases of each game: becoming used to the system, stumbling at the first hard song during the game, and finally going through the pain that is the last level. The game is easy but catchy for the most part but finishing them proves to be a challenge. I finally got around to finishing the last level of Ouendan 2 today and it took me an hour to do so. Bit by bit, I made it further and further into the level until victory was achieved.

Onto another game, Banjo-Kazooie was a somewhat underrated game for what it accomplished. Perhaps because we’re all too accustomed to instant gratification in games such as Gears of War, reviewers didn’t have the patience to delve deep into the game. What the game is, is Rare being Rare again. Oddball humour that kids can’t understand despite being a “kiddie” game? Check. Blatantly making fun of its own games? Check. Pushing the envelope in a once saturated genre by having a deep vehicle editior? Done.

Admittedly, one of my favourite parts of the game is Klungooozz Arcade, a super retro challenge inside the game. The Rare Witch Project has a page with the background and tunes. Anyway, Banjo-Kazooie is now $20 with an impending DLC announcement so it’s hard not to go wrong picking it up at this point.

In the great news section, The Behemoth will be unveiling “Game #3” on the 18th. After Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers, I can only hope for another outstanding outing. However, the announcement does seem early when the developer said it doesn’t want to make gamers wait too long again. I remember wanting to play Castle Crashers for two years! Still worth it.

The Behemoth: Game #3 teaser

Apparently, the teaser image hints that Game #3 will be Dickens themed and called “The Littlest Tofu.”
